Last week, Anakin’s Trails received a call from the Laurens County Animal Shelter about a litter of ten puppies born underneath a house near a busy road. The situation was dangerous, and time was critical.
We immediately reached out to our community asking for help with rescues and foster placements—and once again, you answered in a big way.
While some of us were tied up with other commitments, team members Rhonda, April, Beth, Debbie, and Sharon were on site doing the hard work. With muddy knees, dirty boots, and a lot of patience, they carefully worked to reach the puppies hidden beneath the house. It wasn’t easy, but using a variety of gentle techniques, they were able to safely remove each puppy one by one.
All ten puppies were transported to the shelter, where they were received by Carolyn and given immediate care. The puppies began eating right away and are now being treated for worms and other basic medical needs. Most importantly, they are warm, safe, and on their way to brighter futures with the help of rescue partners.
At Anakin’s Trails, we are not a rescue. We are a stray and pet recovery organization. Our mission is to help locate, trap, and recover lost pets and stray animals and reunite pets with their families and strays with their new, forever family.
No more living in the cold underground, little ones—you’re safe now.
And yes… we’re going back for mom. 🐾❤️
