Clarifying Our "Free" Services

Let’s be very clear about what “free” actually means when it comes to the work we do at Anakin’s Trails.
If we are bringing you a $1,300 professional recovery trap—the only method proven to catch an extremely skittish or uncatchable dog…
AND
If our team is spending hours setting up the trap (a process that takes at least two hours per launch) while juggling our own families, jobs, and responsibilities…
AND
If we cover our own gas after making multiple hour-long trips to assist in the recovery…
AND
If we provide the bait, surveillance, 24-hour coaching, and transportation…
👉 Then YES, we do expect your assistance in operating the trap—especially if the dog is going to you.
This means helping us bait, monitor, and set the trap (both dead and live) and being involved in safely moving the dog into a crate.
It is incredibly frustrating when some individuals or organizations expect us to do all the work but offer little to no help in return. To be clear, most people we work with are amazing and willing to assist in any way possible—but for those who believe they are "doing us a favor" by taking a trapped dog, let’s be clear:
💡 We always find a way. We do this because we care. But we are also volunteers. None of us are paid, and none of this happens without teamwork.
If you are reaching out to us for help, we expect you to be part of the process. That’s how a rescue community works.
Thank you to those who step up, lend a hand, and work alongside us to get these animals to safety. You are the reason this mission continues.
